Apple Stores will adopt jewelry-store security for gold Apple Watch Edition

Apple is planning to give high-end versions of the Apple Watch special treatment at retail locations when they're available this spring.

According to 9to5Mac , the company will be using security precautions for the 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition similar to what jewelry stores use, storing the watches in safes overnight, not on the store floor.

The safes will feature Apple Watch MagSafe chargers, which are designed specifically for the smartwatch, so the devices will be ready for demoing each day. Apple has already started equipping stores with the safes, the report says. Read more...
