The morning routine can be tough — but probably not as tough as this man's.



Detroit resident James Robertson, 56, walks a total of 21 miles to and from work every week, Monday through Friday. In 2005, the Robertson's 1988 Honda Accord broke down and walking became the only way to get to his job











Due to budget cutbacks, many buses don't travel to all areas of the city. In order to get to work, Robertson must walk to the SMART bus stop near his home, then trek another eight miles to his job in Rochester Hills for his shift at Schain Mold & Engineering. At 10 p.m., he the walks another eight miles again to take another SMART bus, which drops him off five miles away from his home — a grand total of 13 miles in the middle of the night. Read more...
