Facebook to remind UK users to register to vote

LONDON — If you're eligible to cast a ballot in the UK general elections in May, you'll see an update in your Facebook newsfeed Thursday reminding you to register to vote

The social network has teamed up with the Electoral Commission to put a message in people's timelines prompting them to go to Gov.uk and use the online registration site. Users will also be able to let their friends know that they've voted through a new "life event."
