Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday to discuss the escalating fighting in eastern Ukraine.
The French president and German chancellor traveled to Moscow a day after they went to Kiev to present a peace plan to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Merkel's visit signals the seriousness of the conflict as it's the first time the German leader has gone to Moscow since the Ukraine conflict began.
