Monday marks what would be the 73rd birthday of the much beloved North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, who passed away in December 2011. So naturally, the country celebrated with a variety of festivities, including the ninth annual Kimjongilia exhibition held in Pyongyang, featuring flowers named after the former dictator.
Other highlights of the revelry included a hydrogymnastics performance, an ice sculpture festival, one hell of a large meeting — and, as a birthday gift to the rest of us, the release of more Kim Jong-un photos.
