Amazon is in talks to buy some of RadioShack's soon-to-be-closed stores, according to a report.


The online giant would be interested in using the stores if and when RadioShack filed for bankruptcy, according to Bloomberg. Amazon would use the locations to display its hardware and provide pickup and drop-off centers for online customers. Amazon reps could not be reached for comment on the report.



Amazon would vie with Sprint and Sanpower Group, the China-based investors behind Brookstone, for the locations, according to the report. RadioShack currently has more than 4,000 locations. Sprint is said to be interested in 1,300 to 2,000, according to the report. Reps from Sprint could not be reached for comment. Read more...
