LONDON — The UK is not doing enough to combat the Islamic State (ISIS), MPs say. The cross-party Defence Select Committee says the country's role in fighting extremists is "strikingly modest" and should be stepped up.

However, they added that they were not in favour of deploying combat forces.

The committee's latest report, published Thursday, found that the UK had carried out just 6% of coalition air strikes. The UK's contribution compared unfavourably with that of the U.S., Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia.

The UK can and should be playing a greater role in the fight against DAESH. Our report published todayhttp://t.co/Q9AnKqx4Vn
