Chicago

The winter storm that brought about 18 inches of snow to the Chicago area Sunday moved over the Northeast on Monday, resulting in thousands of flight cancellations and general travel havoc.


More than 5,500 flights were cancelled Sunday and Monday in the U.S., according to FlightAware, with cancellations and delays hitting travelers hardest in Chicago, Detroit and eastward to New England.



Overnight, the weather system moved through Ohio and Pennsylvania and on to the Northeast, bringing the potential for another foot of snow to Boston, where last week's storm dropped 1 to 3 feet. Read more...
