LONDON — When a 67-year-old man with disabilities was attacked and left with a broken collar bone outside his home in Gateshead, one woman decided she wanted to help.
Beautician Katie Cutler read about Alan Barnes' plight - and how he's frightened to return to his home following the ordeal - and set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money to help towards the cost of relocating him.
She asked for £500 ($750), the Internet responded with £285,000 ($430,000) and counting.
Barnes, who is visually impaired, was mugged outside his home on Jan. 25. The attack, which was described as "disgraceful" by police, left him too afraid to return home. Read more...
