Syriapizza

A pizza delivery service is the last thing someone expects to see in a refugee camp. But in one makeshift city that houses more than 83,000 displaced Syrians, the pie business is booming.


Mu'ajanat Esalam (or Pizzeria of Peace) is serving up slices to refugees living in Jordan's Zaatari camp.



Pizzeria owner Abu Mahmoud is a 48-year old former electrician who fled to the camp and decided to set up shop with some spare money. He partnered with another man who had experience making pizzas and Syrian pastries, and Pizzeria of Peace was born. Read more...
